Seattle University Soccer Student Athlete of the Week

Veteran defender Nance Hill earned the year's first Featured Student-Athlete of the Week honor after having a solid preseason and season opening weekend.

Seattle University women's soccer player Nance Hill (Mercer Island, Wash.) kicked off the 2010-11 academic year by being named the first Featured Student-Athlete of the Week. She earned the honor after having a standout preseason and season opening weekend for the Redhawks this past weekend.
"This is hands down Nance's best preseason ever," said head coach Julie Woodward. "She is able to get things done both on and off the field, balancing her grades in her master's program, commitment to soccer and a summer job. She is going to have a great senior year and I am looking forward to watching her continued success both on and off the field this year."
Hill has played for Seattle U for the past three seasons after transferring from the University of Washington, where she did not play soccer. Since then she has been a steadfast force in the Redhawk backline starting in every game during her three seasons with SU, including posting a pair of starts at central defense in SU's opening weekend.
The defender graduated from the Albers School of Business this past June with a degree in Finance, after boasting a 3.627 cumulative grade point average. She currently is enrolled in the Master's of Professional Accounting program (MPAC) at Seattle U.
Hill and the Redhawk soccer team will travel to Southern California for their first road trip of the season. They will take on UC Riverside on Friday, Aug. 27, at 7 p.m. and close out the weekend at UC Irvine with a 1 p.m. match on Sunday, Aug. 29, at 1 p.m
